The Spain Golden Visa is a residency-by-investment program designed for non-EU citizens who invest in Spain. It provides fast-track residency, the right to live and work in Spain, and visa-free travel in the Schengen Area.

You do NOT need to physically live in Spain to renew — only maintain the investment and visit once every year.

📄 Requirements

  • Clean criminal record

  • Proof of investment before applying

  • Health insurance in Spain

  • Sufficient financial means (approx. €30,000 main applicant + €10,000 per dependent yearly)

Application Locations

You can apply either:

  • In Spain after entering with a Schengen visa

  • From your home country via the Spanish consulate

Taxes

You only become a Spanish tax resident if you spend over 183 days/year in Spain.

If you don’t live in Spain full-time, you’re considered a non-resident taxpayer, with lower obligations (mostly on rental income if applicable).
